2026 Palouse Music Festival - Celebrating America 250

What a joy it was to play in this music festival! I had the privilege of performing on viola in a 30-piece orchestra, backed by a 20-piece choir, conducted by Christ Church’s music director Mark Reagan. This was for the 2026 Palouse Music Festival, a yearly orchestral music festival that was started in 2020 and is held in Moscow, ID.

This year, since it was the 250th anniversary of the USA, the theme was American music! We performed various pieces celebrating our nation’s heritage - including “The New World Symphony” by Dvorak (Symphony 9), Song of Faith by John Alden Carpenter, and Appalachian Springs by Aaron Copland. We even performed in the North American premiere of Dr. David Deboor Canfield’s saxophone concerto “Concerto After Elgar,” with Dr. Canfield present! It was an honor to have him there to give us orchestral direction.

Looking forward to more music to come in the future in Moscow, ID!
